Information on the many benefits of flaxseeds
Here is a Hub I found on hubpage about the many flaxseed oil health benefits which might be of interest to you guys. Many people use flaxseed as an additional source of omega 3 which is definitely a good idea.
Flax seed is often mistaken as a sesame seed but the difference is that flax seed has numerous benefits. It contains a lot of Omega 3 which is good for the body and needed by the heart. Omega 3 cannot be produced naturally by the body so we need to consume food that is rich in Omega 3 especially these days because we consume a lot of omega 6 in the form of vegetable oil and It’s important to keep a healthy balance between both foods
Omega 3 is good for the body because it can help us concentrate better. Some people recommend that before taking exams or doing something that would require full attention, a person must consume food that is rich in omega 3. Other than this, it’s good for the heart because it prevents clogging and makes our heart healthier. Also, it can help ease the pain of arthritis and can make people feel less depressed.
Flax seed is actually very small. You can chew them or you can also buy special supplements that contain flax seed. Flax seed is also known to help fight indigestion and acne and they are also used for body building and losing weight. Additionally some people simply just drink the oil because the flaxseed oil benefits are for most parts very similar to if you simply eat the seeds.
Another of the popular flax seed benefits is that it’s known to help fight constipation and indigestion. It can be eaten with your normal food or you can munch on it when you feel like it. Just remember that flax seed should never be heated because this will change its components which mainly mean you can lose some of the nutritional benefits that you could gain usually.
Because flax seed is cheap and can be bought over the counter, a lot of people buy this instead of fish oil which we know is more expensive. However, fish oil contains more Omega 3 fatty acids. However, if you do not really have a lot of budget for healthy food, it is better to buy flax seed because you can get most of same benefits for a fraction of the cost however there are some flaxseed oil side effects or rather limitations when you want to compare it with fish oil
Do take note though that there is a limit to the amount of flax seed that a person can consume in a day. It would actually depend on the reason why you are taking the flax seed. It is usually recommended to take three tablespoons of flax seed a day but then it is best that you still consult your doctor before taking in large amounts.
